Many times a situation of confusion is faced with the use of memory cards. We are trying to solve the illusion of this small electronic device:

A memory card known as a flash memory card or solid state flash memory data storage is an electronic device that collects digital content.

Nowadays it is used in many electronic devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, music players and video games. The digital information recorded in it can be deleted, re-inserted and necessary changes can be made.

This memory card differs in size, type from the pen drive that can be connected to a computer, a laptop, and a fixed location for devices in which it is used. In the technology world it is called Non-volatile SD Card. SD means Secure Digital and Non-volatile means that it does not need any external power source for its memory.

Three card type

There are three types of memory cards. These are:

SD
- It is considered the first generation of memory cards. The thickness of this card is usually 2.1 milli meters and its maximum capacity is 2 GB.

- Such memory cards come in three sizes. The first is the original SD, which fits directly into the groove. The remaining two come in relatively small sizes, called miniSD, microSD. They can be placed in the respective grooves with the help of an adapter.

- SD cards are commonly used in personal computers, video cameras, digital cameras and similar large-sized electronic devices, while miniSD, microSD are used in small devices such as mobiles, tablets.

SDHC
Memory cards from the second generation came in 2006, called SDHC. SDHC Card means Secure Digital High Capacity Card. These are similar in size to SD cards, but they have capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB. Of these, even relatively small size cards are called miniSD, microSD.

The third generation of memory cards came in 2009, called SDXC. SDXC stands for Secure Digital Extended Capacity. Their capacities range from 48GB to 2TB. (In practice, only 128GB capacity is available to the general public. Its small size is microSD only. Well now their UHS (Ultra High Speed   bus) and SDIO (Secure Digital Input Output) formats have also come. UHS Memory cards of 1 and UHS 3 format have also come, which are used in most commercial devices.

How to Become expert of memory card?

Memory card speed
Memory card speed is an important feature. It is measured by how much speed a digital information like a photo can be saved or removed in a memory card. Many times you may have noticed that the camera takes too much time while saving a photo, prompting busyness or interrupts repeatedly while watching a video. Actually, every device with a memory card is made for a particular speed card.

If you have a low-speed memory card, then it will not be able to give the expected result. Most of us do not pay any special attention to it. Often, people get 8GB / 16GB cards in a device made for memory cards up to 16GB, but do not pay attention to the speed of the card. So the next time if you feel that your camera is taking too much time to store it after taking a photo or if the camcorder is not working properly while taking a video, then it is better to first check that the memory card speed , According to the device or not.

Class 2 is the slowest in the memory card and Class 10 is the fastest speed. Now if the capacity of your camera is of a Class 4 memory card, then it is prudent to use a Class 4 memory card. Use of high-speed cards does not matter, because the camera will not be able to use the capacity of high-speed cards properly. The point to note is that as the speed of a card with the same storage capacity (eg 16GB) increases, its value will also increase.

The speed may be written in MB / sec on the card. If it is not, then you can identify the speed of the card by markings on the card. Having 2 written in an incomplete circle on the card means class 2, which will give a speed of at least 2 MB / sec. Similarly, 4, 6, 10 means class 4, class 6 and class 10, which will give a speed of at least 4, 6 and 10 MB / sec. Having 1 or 3 written inside the u like sign will give an expectation of at least 10 and 30 MB / sec.

Memory card protection
- Many times we accidentally erase songs, photos or any data from memory card. By the time a mistake is realized, it is thought that the matter has gone bad or there is no tampering of the memory card data.

- There are many modern software to avoid this mess, which prevents unwanted access to memory card data by a code or password. Some commands also do this job well.

There is an easy way to avoid any kind of unknown mistake. There is a small piece of sliding on the side of the memory card, which can be moved to the lock position, then no data can be inserted, nor can it be removed in that card. It can be put back to normal to unlock.

- Memory card is sometimes things go awry problem how to fix it. There are many software like SD Card Recovery Tool for this.

- There is a lot of software like Undelete 360, Recuva to retrieve any data from memory card.

- Memory Cards Tools, Memory Card Manager can be used for various experiments / tricks.
