1. Create a desktop or start menu shortcut for web applications, such as Gmail - you need to enter the control menu page (upper right corner of the browser window) and choose the location where you want to place your shortcut. The function works with Google applications such as calendars and documents, as well as others, such as Windows Live Hotmail.
